Hi everyone!
Tis the third video for today. It's an old Carter Family song
sung by Grand Ole Opry star Wilma Lee Cooper and her daughter.
Wilma Lee plays the clawhammer style Banjo.
Check out my other music videos!
This song was recorded May 14, 1979 in Roanoke, Va.
It's available on CD ( Rebel REB-CD-1122 - Classic Country Favorites)
and of course on LP.
I'm going to post new 45rpm, 78rpm and LP recordings along with
rare photographs during the next days and weeks.
So keep checking back.
thanks, Max

  • This song is great. It's so good to hear The Cooper's voices and also their fiddle and banjo. The dobro is good too. I love the pictures you have posted here. Seeing Wilma holding the churn handle (dasher) in her hand reminds me of when my grannie used to churn milk and make butter. The taste of fresh churned butter is unsurpassed. The real thing. I also love the Coopers' song "Big Midnight Special". That's one only Wilma Lee can do justice to I feel. Thanks for posting - Paula (Kentucky)
