Rocky grind setting for Abid (paper pour/drain style brew). The Rocky is great for home brewing, and produces a grind almost as consistent as a Mazzer Mini E, but I wouldn't use this for espresso.

  • Those grains are to big for espresso. When the grains are small enough for espresso it comes out in porous chunks.

  • @Henkera Correct. As it says in the comment, the grind shown is for paper filter Abids. I also mention that I dislike the rocky's grind quality for espresso, but it is useable around true setting 5-7.

  • Have you had any trouble with grounds getting stuck in the chute?

  • @YoungJim409 Ah, I missed this comment. Nope, no problems with the neck of the grinder at all.

  • what do you wanna show? get a proper camera and lighting :)

  • @ChristopherVanS I have 2 Rockys. Mostly i grind on 7. If the coffe is fresh i cant go much lower. If i do, the coffe gets much to fine and comes out in even bigger chunks that wont brake appart properly when it pours out.

  • why would you not use this for espresso? also... is the hopper air tight? can you store the beans in there without risking getting them stale too fast?

  • well, thats not a very clear video, but its nice to see that someone has in fact done this, but i can tell that by the way the grounds are falling from your fingers and not forming any clumps or caking together that your grind is not as fine as what i like to use. i use a Hon turkish mill that makes a very fine but still sandy grind that clumps very easily. i pull 1.5 oz shots on average that are very strong and thick with at least a 1/4" of crema and at most 1/2".

  • @YoungJim409 I frequently have to force the beans into the grind mechanism with my finger...the beans often get stuck.
