@monsmoy1 The only trubble is that Britten lacks aircraft carriers today och could not get air superiority in a conflict on the falklands today. Just read a few days ago that high military officials in the brittish military doubts that they could commit to another Libia operation today after the latest cuts.

The only thing that could defeat the UK would be the UK Government itself. The current one has already done far more damage to British forces, particularly the navy, than Argentina could ever dream of... Even so, anyone stirring up trouble in the South Atlantic would get a nasty surprise just how quickly more strike aircraft could be deployed to the Mt Pleasant air base to supplement the flight maintained there. Provided the Government could be bothered, that is.

@ratalino73 if they all invaded, at once, there would be a total 14 frigates, 11 submarines, 1 aircraft and 11 minor attack craft. vs the british 13 frigates, 6 destroyers, 3 assault ships and 11 submarines. 1/4 of all the ships of the south america allies would be made in britain, and almost all of them are outdated. your not getting them back anytime soon.

no argentines have ever lived on the falkland islands...they were never taken in force by the british...they were simply colonized like Spain colonized argentina...these islands are British and always will be
