Serj and Khatchadour Tankian - Bari Aragil (Armenia Fund Telethon 2009)

A very special performance with Serj and his father on the Armenia Fund Telethon. Khatchadour Tankian will be releasing his debut album, Inchbes Moranak, in December.
The album features new recordings of traditional Armenian folk songs that Khatchadour has sang for the majority of his life, along with 2 brand new songs in Hrant Dink as well as the title track Inchbes Moranank. Produced by his son Serj with new arrangements from famous Armenian composer Andranik Mouradian, the album is a collection of 11 songs that brought the father and son team back to yesteryear, when the love of singing was passed on from father to son.

I wanted to ask you, Armenian friends, what was the song called and what is it about? I'm a huge System of a down fan, so watching Serj perform this beautiful song, totally caught my attention!

I love the Armenian culture, and I am interested in you guys' folk music and such. I'm Mexican but I was Armenian yesterday.

One of the most beautiful Armenian songs, and composed by the great star Ruben Matevosyan. He has also composed, and used to sing AZK PARABANDZ with the wonderful singer RAISA MKRTITCHYAN. This song is about the love regarding the Armenian land haykakan hoxë.
