Different parts of Cornwall do it differently! There is no right or wrong way to do it!

im about to make a proper Cornish pasty for my boyfriend who insists ginsters and soothills are good enough-mad idiot that he is! but i wanted to learn a side crimp so thank you for this :)

Great. Now just turn it so the crimp is on top. Ha! Just kidding. I'd never. I had pasties for the first time in England and really liked them. I came home to California and looked up a pasty recipe posted by a very nice grandmother from Cornwall. Thanks to that recipe my pasties are very good, but after a year I'm only just now getting around to learning a proper crimp. Thank you, internet!

Thankyou, now I can finally give my boyfriend 'properly crimped pasties'. He's from cornwall and gets all angry about ginsters and stuff lol

I am from SW Cornwall, Have worked in one of the major Cornish bakeries, them along with every other bakery in the area all crimp like this, down the side. I would be offended if I was given a pasty with a crimp on top.
