Wild Horse Gather

Rick Harmon flys low as he directs band of wild horses to makeshift corral at the Twin Peaks Herd Management Area that straddles the California/Nevada border about 30 miles northeast of Susanville. The Bureau of Land Managment is rounding up about 1,000 wild horses and burros to balance the population against the needs of mule deer, pronghorn antelope and permitted livestock.

this is HORRIBLE! the BLM kills hundreds of horses and nobody does anything! i did a lemonade stand for The Cloud Foundation and for my birthday, instead of bringing me presents, all my friends brought donations. SAVE THE WILD MUSTANGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i have 4 mustangs named cherry midnight and Jubi and any time a helicopter flys over head to put out a fire (we get a lot of those) they freak out

While I see the need to round up some of the horses to make sure that the land doenst get overgrazed and have the horses starve, there has to be a better way to round them up then making them run hard for miles on end. And those foals that were being loaded on the truck were not old enough to be away from their mothers. I think that they should find a different way to round the horses up that would be less stressful on them and less likely to cause injury to them.

The pilot is an ahole, no excuse for abusing the poor palomino. The horses are exhausted and so confused- until they get crammed together in the pens and then the trucks, then they start fighting for their lives! They have lost everything- their families, freedom and happiness- BLM/contractors are proud of the way they handle round-ups,? See the horses behind the woman fighting and banging in to the panels. I'd like to shove one of their sticks/flag where the sun don't shine!

What is the point of the helio-pilot shoving the already exhausted horse with the skis of the copter? This is OUTRIGHT animal abuse. This pilot should stick to crop dustin,...fucking asshole
