racing? best with manual even better would be with a gear box like in the 10' GTR paddle no clutch change gears light years quicker than a person using the clutch...only thing you really need the clutch for is drifting?

@Aelleor For 90 percent of America that is true but for the other people like me that drive a stick every day i don't even have to think about shifting its a natural thing.. So id only rule Auto more Consistent from a dig. Other than that they are the same.. Minus the extra drive train loss of an automatic.

@RotaryRobBrap japanese sports cars? the best big market jap sports car is the GTR which is an auto (flappy paddle)... vette zr1 - only manual. ford gt500 - only manual. most new ferraris .... flappy paddle. I will always own manual i hate autos and flappy paddle gearshifts. but please, dont spill bullshit on the floor, cause you will mop it up. Even the evo MR was only flappy paddle for a couple years. if you want info on why, look up GTI DSG v Manual. New autos are more consistent and faster.

Manual 6 speed all the way for a street setup, and if the revs/power drops, kick the clutch and watch its ass end go sideways! Thats how we Aussies do to our Monaro and HSV coupe, we love to skate hehehe :)

@RotaryRobBrap LOL ok then, i drive an 18 wheeler.....i dont need an automatic....i have a 2012 jeep wrangler that is automatic because the wife hurt her left leg and back, my 2006 dodge magnum doesn't come with a stick shift, and my 99 civic is a 5 speed....and I didn't say it makes a perfect shift 100% of the time, and the arguement isn't about a manual beating a auto, its about auto's are better for drag racing, go hang at a drag strip and start asking the BIG racers, the run lenco or autos.
