A suburban family is torn apart when fourteen-year-old Annie (Liana Liberato) meets her first boyfriend online. After months of communicating via online chat and phone, Annie discovers her friend (Chris Henry Coffey) is not who he originally claimed to be. Shocked into disbelief, her parents (Clive Owen and Catherine Keener) are shattered by their daughter's actions and struggle to support her as she comes to terms with what has happened to her once innocent life.

All the people calling her stupid need to stop, this happens to a lot of people and they aren't stupid just stuck, confused and in their head they think they are in love. When she met him she didn't know how to say goodbye or how to leave him, because he convinced her that he was still who she loved. The scary thing is this could happen to anyone and until you reach a certain age in your teens where you are concious of what you say to strangers online you are vulnerable even with stranger danger
