This video chronicles the reproduction of a c. 1760 Queen Anne side chair. It's believed that a set of at least 6 were originally made for the Waln-Ryerss family. One sold at auction in 2003 for a staggering $679,500 and another is available for viewing at Winterthur Museum. The chair is considered a transitional piece as it has the Queen Anne form but is embellished with Chippendale carvings. Horner's Blue Book of Philadelphia Furniture calls it the "Best American Queen Anne chair yet found."
I'd love to take a class to better learn the techniques to build this chair or even the ball and claw stool, I've been thinking about the one that Randell O built in FWW. Maybe when your published and better known, like Gene or Dennis Bork, or some of the other SAPFM members, I can take a class from you.
Keep up the great vids and the interesting projects.
