I rode the Amtrak California Capitol Corridor to Emeryville and got greeted with some action right after I got off the train. My ride, pushed by #2006, departs first, then #2002 departs southbound toward Oakland Jack London Square.

  • why was there a amtrak logo on the first car on the train that arrived?

  • That car is a repainted Amtrak long distance Superliner unit, not an Amtrak California unit. I'm guessing the logo is still there for that reason.

  • I'd say the Capitol Corridor is my favorite amtrak train.

  • Used to take the Capitol Corridor up to Davis from Santa Clara depot. Nice views. We took the Zephyr to Chicago then hopped on the Cardinal to Baltimore. It was a round trip in first class bedrooms. I've uploaded vids if you want to take a look. Thanks for a great video!

  • sounds like an airCRaft

  • Great video! Good catch. Thanks for sharing it with us.

  • Wow! Two Trains!!

  • Great Vid!

  • @jpwolfe79 I believe the reasoning behind that is that one works as a tail light, the other one will activate (flash) when the emergency brakes are applied. Just a theory.

  • By far the best paint scheme for the F-59PHI units. They don't look right any other way. I only saw this scheme briefly early on when I worked in Los Angeles in 2000, I thought it was rather nice. Too bad they repainted everything.
