@fixdeluxe1 I think it's a little bit deeper than that, after years and years of patience, a machine gets to be conscious of its existance, only to realize that the knowledge gathered trough all that time is useless, because it's alone. It wasn't just bored, but also sad and dissapointed.
@TheAndrewGirard It's pretty clear you've not read what I sent you. We have nothing but the Timeless One's word for him being a Precursor, Bear has hinted that everything he's said is a lie to manipulate the Forerunners. Cryptum, Evolutions and Primordium all point to the TO and Gravemind being the same entity, failing that, Gravemind is a conduit which the TO is projecting his consciousness into. Read my message.
@TheAndrewGirard that kinda makes sence because from my sources 343 thought chief was a forerunner( by his armour or how he looks) and possibly the rest of the forerunner tech might reconize chief as a forerunner as well, and let him in.
@ajw34307 For the same reason as to why 343 and other Forerunner creations have memories of past Forerunners Thoughts. Its what they do to give intelligence and life to such creations, including A.I.
@ajw34307 -.- dude, The Precursors are the reason as to why the Flood is around man. They are still two separate beings, I've already finished the book. They aren't the same thing in any way, Gravemind only has bits of the Timeless One's conscious because they are the reason he's even in existence. Your the foolish one.
@TheAndrewGirard Wow, you really are foolish. Since I cannot share links in a video, I am going to PM you a post I made on Greg Bear's discussion forum noting every similarity between Gravemind and the Timeless One. And once you finish Primordium, you'll see just how wrong you were. Don't start giving yourself credit when you're wrong.
@KaosArcAngel1998 Last living Precursor that came before the forerunners. A being that wanted to get back at the Forerunners for destroying Precursor Civilization because of its uprising. He knows the secrets to how to fully stop the flood and etc. And was also in the building that Mendicant Bias was during the war Flood/Forerunner. He's dangerous, very dangerous, and Chief is here to be the one to stop him, just as it happened in the past.
@KaosArcAngel1998 Not a Shield world, in all retrospect its possibly the actual Home Front, for the Forerunner species, its first planet of population so to say.
