Seven Turn (a film by Jessica Marie Sutherland)

An unforgettable party is recalled through the eyes of the birthday girl.

This is my first film, completed during my final semester of undergraduate studies at Cleveland State University, December, 2006.

Emily Shantery's performance still gives me goosebumps, I just remember being in that car with her, making her scream. It was both an awesome and terrible experience as a director. And then she just shrugged her shoulders after the first take, and said, "I have another take on it...where I yell NOOOOO."

Little genius.

the voice-over is a poem I wrote in 2007, as part of my application to USC. It was supposed to be your "most emotional moment," but I realized I only had fragments of the day my father died, which is 25 years ago this month (07.20.1986). Bits and pieces. So I made this movie from the poem as part of my upper level package for my undergrad degree.
