This Shakir guys is an idiot. The bank runs and panics in the early 1900's were caused by bankers like J.P. Morgan who went around spreading rumors that banks were going under. Then all the people took their money out of the banks out of panic and that is why banks had to call in loans and the people ended up losing. The Great Depression was caused by the Federal Reserve.
