  • Margaret Rutherford perfected the role of Miss Marple. No one has come close to her portrayal of this character. The actresses who have played Miss Marple since Miss Rutherford have been so extremely inadequate to say the least !!!!! I was told that her male sidekick in her Marple movies was actually her husband in real life.

Cheers to Margaret Rutherford.........I love her "Miss Marple." ***smiles*****

  • I first came across her in the Miss Marple series and am just drawn to her! LOL

  • Thank you Magaret for all the joy you brought & still bring in our lives.

  • @wenglishsal She was in Miranda with Glynis Johns in the title role and, as usual, Stringer Davis in a supporting role!

  • @mickh18 ... What a wonderful tribute to an amazing lady, many many thanks for posting this, all those fabulous photos, I not sure of all the films but I guessed a few...Margaret certainly had a very expressive face didn't she..

Ooh I had a look-see on Wiki and the film about the mermaid was called 'Miranda' in 1948, she was Nurse Carey.. Yippee I got it right... What a lady eh, not me, Margaret of course...
