@lifepod2036 Back then they didn't call it punk, because the snotty heroin-addict side hadn't come out yet. Back then it was called "surf." Check out the way this song is integrated into the soundtrack for "Point Break" and you will see what I mean.

I can't believe Rush and Zepplin covered this.. what an honor for them to cover such a great discoverer of garage punk. Punk existed nearly 20 years before it was first coined and I think arthur lee brought it to the worlds attention first with this song but no one knew what to call it at the time. But clearly he brought it to mainstream first a good 5-10 years earlier himself. Bring in the new post punk and our with these faggoted corporate plastic stage singers. Wake Up Kids!
