Few reasons why Rift is better then most other mmorpgs out there

I played Eq2, Wow, Rift, then back to Wow...cause Rift got booring at lvl 50 and after getting all the rank PvP gear....but I miss area looting in Rift....miss it soooo much.....im boored of Wow again though :(

@Verrie77 WoW really is a very average game, especially these days when there is so many good ones out on the market. The nice thing about Rift is the amount of new content that is constantly being pumped into the game. Personally I will never go back to WoW, there is no way in hell. SWtOR looks awesome, Rift keeps putting tons of content into the game and to be honest i really, really miss Warhammer Online.

Why is everybody bashing on WoW? i play both, and like em, play WoW when i get bored of rift, and keep switching back and forth until i have something to do.

One year later, and RIFT is still kicking WoW's ass imo. In one year, WoW churned out three major content updates. In nine months, RIFT had six. And 1.7 is coming out probably by the end of January, with the anniversary update coming around March. Which will make ~8 major updates for RIFT in a year.

I play Rift because raid encounters aren't copies of raids we beat 5 years ago, graphics aren't massively outdated, and the game doesn't piss me off with unnecessary travel or sitting in hubs. Rift isn't all that original, and it can get a little bland, but I'd rather play a solid game that always has something to do, somewhere to go, and something to kill. The soul system is complex but it's very adaptable, and 5 specs are an amazing bonus.

Rift makes you go to the open world instead of making you stay in a city all day waiting for queues. (WoW)

I do enjoy rift, the problem is that now I'm raiding and just doing dailies, it feels like even with zone-wide invasions there's not much to do, even the world event stuff just becomes dailies after dailies, and starting a new character doesn't completely help, considering there are only two starting zones and two pathways, so guardians start in the same place and take the same zones and quests to 50 and defiants have their own one option, the class system is really their only variety.
