Weld County commissioners have approved a proposal for an energy park in northern Weld County that would include a variety of traditional and alternative energy-production operations that would ultimately be tied into the region's energy grid.
The commissioners voted 5-0 to approve the proposal by Craig Harrison of Harrison Resources for a 640-acre park about 35 miles north of Greeley and about 20 miles south of Cheyenne. Possible uses of the park include a solar farm, geothermal facilities and a gas-fired firming plant with gas provided from drilling operations in the area.
