(July 28)[Notes:ANCHOR VOICE] New details about the man accused of killing 2 people and injuring several others at a house of worship.Authorities say Jim Adkisson's rage probably stemmed from him not being able to find a job and his frustration over the liberal polices associated with the Unitarian church.During a search of his property...police say they discovered a 4 page letter that led them to believe those were his motives.((Neighbor SOT: He got upset a time or 2 when he lost a job...everybody gets mad when they lose a job. I don't see why he'd take it out on these people at that church like that.))According to a member of the church...the reason Adkisson may have targeted this particular church is his ex-wife was once a member. The couple had been married for nearly a decade before she ended the marriage out of fear. She told a judge that her husband had threatened to quote- blow my brains out and then blow his own brains out. Investigators won't say if his wife was a factor in attack, but they have said the shooting had been in the making for some time. The police chief says Adkisson bought the shotgun he used from a pawn shop about a month ago. About 200 people were in the sanctuary, watching a children's performance when he opened fire. Police say his weapon and 76 rounds of ammunition were concealed inside a guitar case. He managed to fire 3 shots before he was tackled by members of the congregation. ((Witness SOT: I saw him on the floor with his hand behind his back. The guys were sitting on his legs and feet and I see just dozens of cartridges all over the floor. So he had a tremendous amount of ammunition. We're so fortunate those men were able to get him down before he hurt anyone else.)) 4 victims remain in the hospital...including 2 in critical condition.Adkisson has been charged with murder and is being held on a million dollars bail. More charges are expected. His next court appearance is set for August 5th.

What are you talking about? Where did I mention ANYTHING about guns? I was referring to the prejudice/hatred against LIBERALS and democrats. I'm a gun owner, MANY democrats are gun owners, probably many of those church members were gun owners, but what you're saying is just stupid. People should bring their guns to church? Are you MENTAL? if the guy walked into a Police station with the same intent ,he could have gotten away with the same 2 lives . He walked in unannounced and started blasting casualties are guaranteed. If 99% of the church were armed the only different outcome would have been the shooters likely death. Churches are the 'house of God' , a 'place of peace' is subjective. That said, I have to agree that if these church goers were known to carry , the shooter would have likely never been there.

I can not understand how people can be gun owners yet be completely ignorant when it comes to your right to carry those guns outside your own house. And I am a church goer. Go every sunday, but I do not at all believe that just because it is a church, that I should not carry my gun because it's supposed to be a place of peace. Sure it's a place of peace til some wack job comes in blowing everybody away, and no one there can do anything about it. Gun free zones, only get people killed by guns

So you are trying to tell me that you were making no reference to the fact that someone used a gun to shoot people? I know you did not specifically say anything about guns. And you really think that just because you are at church you are safe? Incidents like this prove otherwise yet you still refuse to accept the idea of people licensed to carry guns carrying their guns in church just because it is a church? The criminals obviously carry their guns there and can shoot without resistance.

Hold the hell up. What do you mean by that? Do you really think that because McCain and Palin are pro gun that they are pushing for people to go nuts and shoot innocent people? If McCain/Palin had their way, someone in that church would have had a gun and could have taken him out before he did as much damage as he had. The crap anti gun people accomplish, is making us all sitting ducks just waiting to be shot by people who do not obey the law anyway and get guns illegally.
