@Mars7777777 they were diesel generator cars. Usually train lighting and air-conditioning load etc is done through dynamos mounted on the wheels, this puts strain on the engine hauling the train. To get higher speeds for all air-conditioned services such as this elite Rajdhani express, the train coaches have the dynamos removed, and instead rely on diesel generator cars. This is probably more efficient than indirectly using the kinetic energy of the train.
