Big Pike Caught Ice Fishing at Night

I was out fishing for walleyes one night. I ended up hooking into a big northern pike which took over 15 minutes to land because I was using a 6 lb test leader. It's not a giant monster northern pike, but it is a satisfying catch on such light line. Also it's not too often you catch a big northern pike like this at night.

I've always wanted to try ice fishing. My dad has a fun home video of him and his friends ice fishing when they land a trout so big they had to make the hole bigger. They're sitting there trying to yank it through the hole when they realized it's got about 3 inches all around it more than the hole. Then you see them rushing with the saw cutting at the ice. XD That was a big fish. lol

@ArcticFox91 you should see some of the sturgeon we catch every so often. There is a spearing season where they regularly get fish near 100 pounds. when those big ones bite on hook and line it gets pretty crazy.

@MrEastside619 we usually use big golden shiners for the best results. I think this was on a golden shiner or a lake shiner.
