  • Cued Speech is a phonemic system that visualizes spoken language. It's not a visual language like most people seem to think. It is a communication system that conveys spoken language visually.

You can find more information if you google "cued speech"

  • A note, I'm not a certified instructor nor is this video endorsed by the NCSA. I just merely wanted to give people a jumpstart on learning to cue, so enjoy!

  • Ahem, my "who cares" comment was directed to those criticising the vlogger for using Cued Speech... Frankly, had my child been deaf, I'd without hesitation use Cued Speech.

  • I like the video about Cued speech . I am deaf person and use ASL Language but I want to learn cued speech for myself.

  • Looks like you went to Clarke.

  • Goodness!! I read lips, speak well and use ASL. I prefer this over cued speech any day. It's too confusing. So for me to learn cued speech would seem moot to use as I speak fluently in English, and read lips. I totally support ASL as it is the most widely used among many deaf/hard of hearing people this day and age.Don't confuse deaf people with cued speech as it is moot. And many deaf cannot even talk, so ASL would be better for them if they have never learned how to speak. I support ASL 100%!!

  • Thanx so much i learned alot :) ilovecuedspeech!!!

  • WOW WOW !!!you do sign language . i like language asl different lan. my name is lakeitha thomas i am deaf form school about learn english and asl also speech .

  • Thanks for making this Aaron, I'm using it to practice for the CLTNCE. :)

  • i am going to kiss your mouth than speech thanks

  • its not just about being able to speak clearly its also about being able to support the cuer in communicating and understanding other cuers and what they are saying. I think it aids in the lip reading process because the hand position indicates which sounds they are making. makes it easier for the user to understand other cuers.think that makes sense..

  • Cuers - we're called cuers. I don't use Cued Speech in everyday life. I'm what you would consider to be an oral deaf adult. I only cue to people who know how to cue or are learning to cue.

  • Erm... i just have a one question for you "cued faiths" lot, so if you believe that cued speech give you to improve your speech, it's up to you as it's your life not mine's but one thing that bother me about "cued speech"...

if you speech very well by cued so why dont you stop use cued after all? i'm confused here... enlighten me?
