I was invited by AVID to a private Q&A with Kevin Smith on April 4th 2010 while he is on the promotional tour for his new movie, "Red State," at Marion Oliver McCaw Hall. It was amazing getting a chance to meet with him and get to know him. He mentioned that he edited the entire thing on Avid and I was happy to find out that Any college student can purchase Media Composer or Pro Tools for $295 and you will get four years of free upgrades included with that price. • he's such a great guy :)

  • I think he has accomplished alot in his career, his Evening with Kevin Smith series were excellent rants about success and some harsh times so I hope he doesn't really feel like he's wasted any time. He has lots of stories to tell and some great movies. Plus, he's just over 40, still has lots of years left to make some more movies (and other). He has a comic book store(s?), a podcast (smod), movies, does tours where he speaks about his experiences (Evening with), married with kids. Well done sir

  • I love listening to him talk, he just goes with it. Kevin is one of the best speakers ever.

  • @effinyzarc 4 sho

  • That whole "unreasonabilty" quote is really inspiring to me. Being a musician, that can be applied to the touring lifestyle of successful musicians.

I love has films, and can total relate to him and his anecdotes, since Music and Film are both very artistic and similar to certain degrees.

  • This dude has such a clear mind. Dig him.

  • "fuck the why people'" greatest quote ever

  • You could sit him in a white, box room by himself and he could talk forever... and most of it would be insanely interesting. Genius

  • @leconarose I really envy you.

  • @RonJammin He's recently announced that after one more film he is retiring. :(

  • The last 8 minutes are magical...quite interesting how Smith has changed.

  • "That's a problem with this business is that it IS a business."

.....well said.....like most of what Kevin says....everything is spot on.
