  • In my experience, it doesn't matter how nice you try to be to religious people. I have had christians call me an obnoxious ass and every other name in the book just by me saying, "I am an atheist". How do you get less insulting and confrontational than that and still be honest? I had one christian accuse me of ad-hominem because I used the word "fail". You can coat it with an inch of sugar, they will still take offense at it, so I have given up trying. I just give it to them straight up.

  • Have you guys looked at the interactive transcript for this video? xD

  • @stiaa04 You speak the truth :)

Must be hard to distinguish between someone just spewing words at you on the one hand, and actually having a valid point at the end of that blabbering on the other.

  • @06goldman06 Just click CC at the bottom of the video. :)

  • @floppaboppa And i HAVE seen them let ppl talk and talk and never get to a point and take up way to much time so it doesn't suprise me that they sometimes overcompensate for that.

I don't expect perfection at least. I wonder how they actually think about this...

  • @floppaboppa That particular thing i have noticed too. I think that Matt the way i have noticed it at least, seems to think that a discussion has premises and that the moment you hear a premise you disagree with you ought to stop the person and say 'i don't agree with the premise'. Which in my and i suppose your view is a flawed thinking because sometimes words that might seem to be premise for one thing, once you hear the entire sentence has a different meaning.

But some ppl go on forever too.

  • @MountainPeak11 where can i find it ?

  • @jmg94j You hit the nail on the head about christians... in most cases they get EXTREMELY upset INSTANTLY and they never know how to defend thier beliefs. They'd rather end the conversation and never speak to me again.. People need to understand that religion is a cop-out.. its easier to just follow a religion when youre too scared to THINK about things like death (with no heaven/hell)..Life gets A HELLUVA' LOT more real when you know jesus isnt there to save you! Open minded christian =oxymoron

  • @stiaa04 I do realise that having the same discussions over and over again gets tiring, but I often get the feeling that they make presumptions about what the caller is going to say and adressa statement that wasn't even going to be made. If one is taking viewer calls, the least one could do is make sure one understands the reason the person is calling, which I sometimes feel is not what they do.

  • @MountainPeak11 i died reading them

  • @floppaboppa I see, and agree with some of what you are saying but taking the umpeenth call in a tv show in front of cameras, that you are doing not as a paid professional but as voulantary work, i don't know if you can expect them to be on the ball all the time. Especially if they are trying to sort their thoughts as well.
