These are great! Do you have Parts 1 & 4?

@drutgat2 ya, you can't just strum through a beatles tune because george would fill in voids on the upstroke sometimes, or put in a short ditty in response to the singing. Its almost guaranteed that you'll find different strummings and dittys that dont repeat themselves in the song. The guitar playing and sounds of the beatles complete repertoire are distinct, complex and has its own signature. The guitar playing wasn't predictable, but yet familiar in their music.

you are pretty much exactly right on...it's nice to see intelligent comments on youtube

Look at the solo work from each Beatle in depth and you can see who was the best musician individually. George was just more self-conscious, maybe a "late bloomer" regarding his song-writing courage, but eventually surpassed John and Paul because he was more willing to be a student of the art until he was confident and enlightened. In his role as a Beatle he was a great guitarist and their spiritual leader and as a individual artist he made music which stands up better to the test of time.

@inkey2 I'm a guitarist, too, and I find George's early solos to be tasteful, economical, incredibly memorable, and very well played. There's so much going on, for example, in the solo to 'I Saw Her Standing There'' and think of the economy of the solo to 'All My Loving'. Amazing stuff. Some of the playing was fluid, and some not - but I think that that was deliberate.

George was my favorite beatle....that being said, as a guitarist myself ...his playing was not that good till about 1967 (gee what a coincidence, thats when he took LSD). Before that his playing was quite "stiff" and lacked fluidity

George is so incredible. He has the most wonderful smile I have ever seen. Whenever I am sad I just look at a picture of him smiling and I can't stop smiling :)
