  • Im from Platte county Missouri and the south in in my soul

  • @cheapcape LOL, how about you yanks keep whining about your lost jobs and busted economy. As your auto jobs disintegrate I'll laugh as Toyota, Nissan and Hyundai invest in plants in non union Southern states. I travel all over the US weekly and laugh every time I see a northern town in shambles.

  • Excellent!

  • Hurting women and children was not necessary. Unless one of them was attacking a troop or not following orders, there would be no reason to jail them and unless it was in self-defense, there would be no reason to hurt them either.

Sherman was trying to get inside the heads of his enemies and doing whatever he needed to do to win. That's why he did what he did. I don't agree with it however and he should have followed the laws of war.

  • @TheBoberton - Well, he had to defeat an army before gaining access to those innocent civilians. He shouldn't have hurt them though. I realize he was probably angry for all the anti-U.S.A. remarks, feelings and parades those people had when the war first started, but Sherman should have just been satisfied knowing he defeated the army of his foes and captured their towns.

  • @Zeeboe Nope, if he supported any side, he would be British. But, as it is, he supports everyone and no one. And yet, for Sherman to get "all the power" he had to kill innocent civilians. Real great way to go down in history.

  • @AllahConsciousness - As I told Boberton elsewhere, the bible would not support what the rebels did. If the Christian God is real, he would have been a Yankee.
