  • Malmsteen may very well be in MY top ten list as one of the most influential guitarists of the last 50 years...I have a feelin that these cats were HEAVILY INSPIRED by Malmsteen.

  • Who wasn't, man?

  • dude the solo seems..little....Malmsteen-influenced, mabye ?

  • could be. Probably because Paul Gilbert was fairly influenced by Malmsteen back in the day, especially on like, Frenzy...

  • 1:58 sounds exactly like a dimebag thing

  • I haven't seen that Compact Disc logo in decades.

  • @MCLemonyfresh That's what I thought. Lots of classical composers did it first... how come nobody credits them?

  • One of the greatest instrumentals of all time.

The bass solos are really awesome too. I'm a bass player, so I really notice that.

  • @MKV1383 thank you! just because someone plays classical style arpeggios doesn't mean they're "malmsteen influenced". it's fairly basic classical chord progressions and arpeggios.

  • oh my.how foolish are all those comments 'who influenced who' about malmsteen and gilbert. they sound and phrase alike because they BOTH are ripping off JS Bach. and proudly doing so.

specially this song, scarified, is a LOT Bachian. i mean, a HELL of a LOT. (ofc its 'shreddified'). Damn so cool!

  • Lyrics by John Myung

  • @Steve128967 Even more so on Y.R.O :P

  • I fucking love this song. I wish I grew up in the 80's

  • Why doesn't anyone make music like this anymore? I guess most of the bands that are popular today CAN'T. I'm so glad I grew up in the 80's.
