Well these guys were laughing at me because i was detained by the Nabas Akland Police.
What happened was that when i landed in Caticlan, i went to met my friends in Nabas around 9pm but i missed them. So by this time there was no bus to ride. I ended up riding a single motor to take me to Caticlan hotel. A week before this there was a politician that was killed in Kalibo by a gunman in a single motor during daylight.
Upon riding in the back of single motor for 10 minutes, the driver told me that their is a checkpoint ahead of us. At this time we decided to go to store to divert pretending that we are buying something to eat. Apparently the police saw us so they came to approached the store. Upon exiting the store, the police were right there in front with their M16. They asked me what am i carrying, so i told them that its my gun (in a shoulder bag 1 glock 1 sti open fully loaded) and presented them my Hawaii ID and permit from Camp Cramy also told them that i m international shooters and came to the island to compete. I guess they were not familiar with my ID and paper work so they decided to take me to there police station to verify. The single motor followed me to station and was so scared after he found out that i was carrying a gun. hahaha.
Upon arrival at the police station, i checked in my firearms then they called the commander. Guess what? Their commander told them that i have to stay overnight so they can verify in the morning to call the Camp Cramy. By this time it was already 10.30pm and they called other resources because they dont know anything about my permit nor encounter before. Well, i did not have a choice so i had to sleep there overnight. Atleast it was not in jail & I had a good sleep in a wooden sofa. In the morning they accompanied me to go to my hotel with their squad car to get my Passport and my registration from HPD. I tell you i was very well protected along the way. 2 police in the front, me in the back and police to my right & to my left. wow!!! so by the time i was back in the police station they already beleived me that i was from U. S. and that my guns are also from U. S. First they thought that the guns i m carrying are from there (philippines). anyway So they called Camp Cramy to report about this Foreigner they caught in the checkpoint and told them the story. During all this time & processing me, all the policemen and woman are so nice and friendly. wow they even have a nice police woman, very cute, hahah. I also met the commander in command and he was very nice explaining to me about their job & also about a week before this that politician got killed. To me i understand very well about their job to serve and protect the public. i never have any regret nor hard feelings because after all they were doing there job. In fact i was glad that this happened to me because i got to met them and good experience to me. So at around 2pm, they finally got the call from Camp Cramy informing them that i m legitimate foreigner and all my paper work are genuine. so they release me. its funny because they even had me sign a weaver form that i m in good physical condition upon release. Well, i do know that next time i will be in PANAY island, i will stop by NABAS police station to say hello to all my new friends. Salamat sa inyung lahat dyan (NABAS POLICE) sir. BEST REGARDS TO ALL OF YOU THERE. SEE GUYS SOON.
