On wednesday, 14th Sept 2011, my amazing little pet rat Molly died of old age. She was in my arms when she passed away :(
I got Molly in 2009 as my 18th birthday present. She was about 4/5 months old when I got her, I adopted her from pets at home. The shop used her for breeding & kept one of her babies back (Milly) to go with her up for adoption. The shop admitted she had never really been handled or anything, and she was so scared of people, she would shake, squeek and bite when you tried picking her up or stroking her. But she soon changed and honestly became the most friendliest & adventurous little thing ever.
Her last 3/4 months was heart breaking to watch, my once so full of life rat, who would run and bounce about at playtime, slowly became unable to eat solid food, causing her lose alot of weight, I spoon fed her every single day. To being unable to clean herself properly, to slowly becoming immobile. I did take her to vets, they did various test and checks on her, but her teeth were fine, airways/lungs fine, no tumours etc... just old age.
I will never ever forget this little girl, she was my everything, she always made me happy, my bedroom will be so empty and lonely without her. She wasn't just a rat, she was my baby :(
I really hope she had the time of her life with me, she'll always be in my heart.

I cant believe it at all!!! I had a Pet Rat named Molly too. She looks just like your rat and she was 4/5 months when she died. She died in my arms as will. (Died from tumor on her front paw.)
