.Firstly I used the render tool in Photoshop to generate a clouds layer. This was saved and imported into After Effects.
.The cloud layer was then set to be much larger than the frame and its position was key-framed to start at the top of the image and finish at the bottom of the image. When played back, the clouds appear to be moving down the screen.
.This layer was duplicated several times and with all the layers selected, they were sequenced with 3 frames overlapping and therefore a small amount of cross-fade was applied.
.The even-numbered layers were rotated 180 degrees and when played back, the sequence was seven times longer with a realistic cloudy sky moving in the background. These layers were pre-composed into a new composition.
.Next the batman logo was imported into After Effects. A solid layer was placed on top with its opacity turned down so the logo is shown underneath. Using the mask pen tool, the logo was drawn out onto the solid.
.After tweaking the Bezier handles on the mask, the logo was created out of the solid layer and the original batman logo image was deleted.
.This layer was set to yellow and duplicated with the new layer set to black and its scale pulled down slightly to give a black logo with a yellow outline.
.Next the logo mask points were key-framed to end in the logo shape, but using the grid view, made to start as a rectangle. When played back, the logo forms from a black rectangle.
.The logo was then key-framed to fill the entire screen and zoom out into shot, rotate quickly and then fly off-screen. Motion blur was added for realism.
.Simulated rain was then added to a new layer and manual adjusted to fit in with the shot. A lens flare was also added and key-framed to move up the screen as the logo comes into shot.
.A light was added to the composition once 3D effect was switched on. This light was positioned and the cone angle and intensity was adjusted.
.Finally an audio score was added to complete the animation.
