This clip shows the weird Cable version of TCC closing down for the day, it cuts early so we see the end of TV Travel Shop and then into Challenge Prize Time, hosted by Kevin Duala. Mr Duala also hosted Blues Clues.

  • @steviegTVreturns - Well i know how the thing happened. C&W probably recorded four weeks of TCC programming. So C&W launched THEIR version of TCC. All they did is repeat the same 28 days of programming all over and over again. IT WAS BORING! TV Travel Shop lasted from 1998 to 2004, and Challenge is now different!

  • @utubeguy35 Well the TCC thing makes sense, it did seem like the same things over and over again.

  • I never heard of TCC, cuz I dont live in the UK. But I do know that TCC lasted from 1984-1998 on 95% of TVs. TVs with Cable and Wireless got it until around 1999.

  • @utubeguy35 TCC was only available on Satellite and Cable, which during the 1990s many people in the UK didn't have (compared to 2010), the official UK version off TCC ended in April 1998. But Cable & Wireless either took the scandinavian version (which was still running at that time) or they were playing out broadcast tapes of TCC from CWC HQ, but this didn't last long as CWC removed it in September 1998. I hope that clears it up for you.

  • Weird cable version, is this the one that replaced the real TCC on that day when it said it was coming back the next day and was never seen again? As seen in one of your other clips.

  • Yep it is indeed, it came on the Monday after the original TCC closed down, it lasted until October and Cable & Wireless saw sense to drop the channel, as there were many times it didn't appear or the fact the programming available was very limited. It only took them until July 1999 to finally get TV Travel Shop on there.
