totally agree with VoultanisExperiments.... both of them great movies ,but for me the difference between them is just the end .. the ending of Monsters can't be reproduced , it's just so stunning and away from any other boring movies of fight between aliens and humans , here it's deeper and meaningful .... as for Gareth Edwards , great director , showed all the world u don't need money to make a great movie but heart , work and imagination .... good luck to the next movie G.E.
For you guys who are debating about Monsters and District 9, you know what, I love both films. They have amazing concepts about extraterrestrial lifeforms and stuffs. A few months ago, I went into a book store and I found a really thick book which later turned out to be District 9 concept arts (it was amazing). For Monsters, I was really surprised when I found out about the film's budget and how they made the film, etc. So, both films gave me something to think after I finished watching them. :)
@CoasterBeach if you say that you want to see godzilla flick into a boring giant lizard action movie just like the first american Godzilla, then I would disagree. Gareth would take Godzilla movie more humane than it ever was. adding some human character and put godzilla into amok, then the movie will complete. if Neill Blomkamp to direct Godzilla next year, trust me, it wouldnt be better than human trying to fight giant lizard with no humanity involved. just the same, boring giant monster movie.
@CoasterBeach that's why i told you that this film was freaking low budget! gosh! didnt you check the budget difference between this film and district 9? and this film wasnt about two people walking around, its about two people crossing the border between human and extraterresials, and this movie is completely about humanity, how human became monster and such.
with a proper budget, this director will fuck your hollywood films.
@CoasterBeach wow, you're a total dick. how can 800,000 budget can beat millions of hollywood money. people are looking for storyline, not your typical alien flick. this is why we can't have peace, people only thinking about destroying things.
who cares about district fucking 9, I love this movie and its minus.

Brillian Film! Dont be spoilt by huge budgets and money offers. Stay small and intimate and cheap.
