Hobo Dinner: Camping and Family Fun

Recipe for making a simple camping dinner we used to call a Hobo Dinner. The ingredients needed are some foil, hamburger, onion, potato, carrot, and green beans. Just make a hamburger patty and place it on the foil, add the sliced potato and onion, then top with carrots and green beans. Salt and pepper to taste. You can add a little butter on top if you wish. Make sure your campfire is pretty well burned down before placing you dinners in the coals; cooks in about 20-30 minutes. Having a fire pit out back works well if you can't get out and camp as often as you'd like, and you can also hone your fire building and starting skills.

Perhaps you could show us how to make ocean watter or stagnant watter drinkable with house hold items that do not require bleach ?I would rather starve rather dehydrate and a side note I finished your videos and you grew on me I like your personality.

We make these all the time but we use the little disposable meatloaf pans and cover the top with tin foil it is much easier to check to see if they are done.

we make hobos while family camping as well! so stinking good! the only difference between yours and the ones we make is that we use cabbage too.. peel cabbage and lay it under the hamburger and then whatever want on top of the hamburger, and then more cabbage on top and wrap in foil! either way they are amazing!! :D
