You always swing as hard as you can! Name one major leaguer that doesn't swing as hard as they can? If they don't it means they were fooled. Swinging at any level is done with maximum effort. With the theory kdawg gives, if you swing gently, you're more likely to hit for power, right? That's the most moronic thing I've heard in a while.

@STOLIE11 You shouldn't always hit as hard as you can, or you won't hit the ball as hard. ;)

This guy really doesn't know what he's talking about. Just let the younger guys hit naturally. You're getting too technical too quickly. What happens is these kids come out having the same swing and looking like robots. Here's what you teach a kid...swing at good pitches, swing as hard as you can (every pitch), it doesn't matter what happens to your top hand, and finish lower than your front shoulder. When they're about 14 put them in the gym doing heavy leg and back work. Teach to hit opo
