The ROCORI Spartans baseball teams regular season is coming to an end this week. ROCORI is 12-5 up to this point, and they are looking to do some serious damage in the upcoming section playoffs. Last week on a windy and miserable evening, the Spartans played host to the Sabers of Sartell. Early on in the game, neither pitcher seemed to be able to retire a batter. After Adam Backes battled control issues on the mound, Mathias Butala came in and limited the Sabers to just one earned run. However, that run forced the game into extra innings where neither offense could string anything together until the Sabers pushed four runs across the plate in the top of the 10th inning. Although ROCORI lost this game the team is still in great shape to make a long and successful playoff push. Stay tuned to DigElog ROCORI for all of your Spartans sports highlights.
