The Eurostar Tri-City-Athlon is the first triathlon to be held across three separate countries all in the same day, with three cities hosting different legs of the event. The day will begin with competitors completing a 1.5km swim in the Bassin de la Villette, Paris, before travelling to Brussels for a gruelling 40 km bike ride at the King Baudouin Stadium (the former Heysel Stadium). The final leg sees the race culminate in a 10km run through London's Regent's Park.
With more than 100 amateur athletes taking part, alongside former Olympians such as Iwan Thomas and current stars such as the record breaking triathletes Ali and Jonny Brownlee, the event's London leg will offer London 2012 organisers a chance to showcase and test ideas ahead of the Olympics in less than two years.
