  • @ImperialArmour ....

  • windows won both hands down!

  • they files are both the same size the windows is a .exe with is super compressed but unpack it its the same size. the .dm is a full disk image nothing needs to be installed what so ever only needs to be mounted by the system.

  • i mac one both installing and installing hands down! The only reason that mac took longer was because thunderbird did not offer a mac zip most dont, but most dont for windows either this one just happened to have one so it was a bad comparison! MAC RULES

  • Win7 wins hands down I dont wanna wait more than I have to to download a program.

  • You didn't do a clean uninstall on the mac. Go to your libraries and see all the footprint of thunderbird left there.

Understand how things work, not just what's graphically shown to you.

  • The size might be larger because of the universal binaries that might be included with the application. The universal binaries are used to run the app within older PPC architectures; there are ways of removing those unnecessary universal binaries when you have installed it on your machine. Xslimmer is one application that can quickly remove the unnecessary binaries.

I saved up to 4 gb of space by "fixing" my 12 gb of apps so that they only took 8 gb.

I think Snow Leopard wins this round ^^
