I wonder what he means, "I am your apple, you're my trunk"? Does he mean like, Austria is the truck (of a/the tree) and he is one of the apples of the tree?

There is also a German proverb which goes like that: "Der Apfel fällt nicht weit vom Stamm" which translates to "The apple does not fall far from the tree" (which means, an apple is always close to its trunk). It means e.g. that a child is just like its parents :]
