These crackpot theories about "zombies" don't pan out.. It couldn't happen... The classic stumbling guts hungry undead would NOT be a possibility due in part to the progressively altered physiological states there in which accompany death post any infection within the human body..

The body has to in itself be sustained in living sense for even the most limited of bodily functions.. A degenerative disease much like rabies would be the nearest possibility to what we'd see in an actual "zombie".

Ok, all of this assumes that zombie bodies would decompose in the natural way. We can't assume that they would nececarrily do so. The vary thing that might cause them to become zombies could help preserve their flesh to varying degrees. Also this discussion rules out the "runner" types of zombies we find in films like 28 days later and the Horde. Did any of these guys see the Horde? Those zombies engage in hand to hand combat!!! These people reeeeeally didn't do their research...
