The small town of Robertson in NSW, Australia is home to the Big Potato. A group of young "artists" decided it would be fun to dress it up a bit and secretly worked for weeks to create a face for it. It was covertly erected on the eve of one of the busiest days of the year for the town and the locals were pleasantly surprised by the guerilla street art.
This video shows just a few of the visitors that the new look big potato recieved, and it even shows a bit of the group responsible making some adjustments to their work (It is hard to see what you are doing at 4am on a wet morning).
It has reached the National News.

@iamwilcohitzert It is a real landmark, but not a real potato. It is constructed of concrete and is hollow inside.

Nice bit of art there.
As the artists are no doubt aware, art should confront to some degree at least one of the senses or sensibilities.
Robertson is, to a degree, polarized.
Nice to see the tree shaken a little.
Im sure the artists, should I know them, would recognise my appreciation of their animation effort to document the reaction. Well done.

Awesome! It's more of a tourist attraction with the face which would be good for the town. How long was the time lapse period?
