This production is much better than the orignal series, which incidentally, turned out to be declining every year. This film is serious, dark, grim and realistic, with a great job of director, and very beautiful photo and wonderful soundtrack. Excellent production, I think one of the best thrillers I've ever seen.

Michael Mann--awesome--simply awesome job. l No one but you could--would have--done it so well. KUDOS to all the cast,. Just wish John Hawkes had been on longer! Great, great actor, & I so hope he wins this years Best Supporting! Colin / Jamie were spot-on perfect. Wolfsky9

To hopefully answer some questions:
1. Mann makes slice of life kind of movies such as this, therefore there wont be a sequel.
2. Public Enemies is a period piece, but wasn't meant to be shot like a period piece. The digital look was meant to capture that era as if its happening right now. Not about the 1930s, its in the 1930s.
