Defying Obama, Israelis Evict Palestinian Families in Jerusalem

Why should Africans and African Diaspora people be concerned about this?? Some of us know about the 6 million who have been killed in Congo but few of us know about who is among the capitalist kingpins behind the procurement of coltan and other strategic metals in Congo. Where there is a blood trail and massive oppression there is also a money trail that leads to Brussels and/or Israel.

Israeli police have evicted nine Palestinian families living in two houses in occupied East Jerusalem.

Jewish settlers moved into the houses almost immediately. The US has urged Israel to abandon plans for a building project in the area.

Israel has occupied East Jerusalem since 1967, a move not recognised by the international community.

The evictions have been condemned by the United Nations, the Palestinians and also the UK government.

As the row between Tel Aviv and the West gains momentum, the US and the EU condemn Israel over the eviction of Palestinians in East Jerusalem (al-Quds).

The US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton described the evictions as "deeply regrettable" and "provocative" while accusing Israel of failing to live up to its international obligations under existing peace initiatives.

"I have said before that the eviction of families and demolition of homes in East Jerusalem is not in keeping with Israeli obligations," Clinton said at a joint Washington press conference with her Jordanian counterpart Nasser Judeh.

Actually, you're incorrect.  Far more rush the US border each day but border patrol do not fire on them in this manner as you presume. If these people are armed and a certain danger, and rarely is a large group armed, only then is deadly force allowed. Otherwise, these people are tracked, arrested, processed and most sent back to their country.

@TheAlonweissman Okay, the idea that Israel can just "accept the idea" of evicting a whole country is stupid in itself, and of course the Palestinians didn't accept it, they were being forced from their homes. And I do have "an idea in history." Also, Palestine isn't a country of just Arabs, there are a whole bunch of different minorities in Palestine, because it's a Secular state. Israel is a theocracy. I'm sorry, but I don't see how it's a good idea to mix religion into government.

If you knew your history, you would know that Palestine was recognized as a country until Britain decided to throw the Palestinian people out and give the land to Israel.
