  • when i try to write flash..with my 424 b it says write flash failed for some reason..ive followed this tutorial to the T...any ideas what may be wrong

  • @cem8989 What is the current firmware does your 424 B has? Are you flashing it as an external component or an internal one. If its external, Connect it internally and try again to flash.

  • @nights2walk the current firmware is GL1a...trying to flash with an external enclosure..was trying to keep from having to install internally, do u think the external enclosure would really make a difference??

  • @cem8989 Try updating to GL1B then, if it still fail, then i think some driver for the externel enclosure is causing problems. I suggest to get the drive connected internally and check.

  • @nights2walk i connected it internally and it gets two bars in and still says write fails..wondering if using the external enclosure may have caused a problem...where do i get the GL1B

  • @cem8989 You will be able to get that form firmware hq website.

  • @cem8989 Also i find this info that might be useful for you try this and let me know if it works .

If you are unable to flash the drive (2 blocks then flash fail)

set your SATA mode in your BIOS to NON-RAID IDE mode (not AHCI)

or try using a different SATA Port chipset if your motherboard has 2 sets.
