To think this requires no skill and is cheating seems illogical. You obviously need to develop control to balance strikes on both sides of the cymbals and adapt to the sense of playing this style while maintaining patterns with the other hands and feet. While this particular tool might or might not last, innovation should always be welcome in the creative and artistic community. Give him credit for being creative.
