Life by the Drop has a cool acoustic intro riff, here you can see it's really not too difficult. It is a neat riff in open E, and although this is not the exact riff note-for-note, but it is close. If you use your ears and a bit of time, you can figure it out yourself! you can really variate it to make some neat, original sounds for yourself.

However, this is nearly it. Just a few notes toward the end needs tweaking if you want it exactly like the man. Enjoy :)

  • I understand where you're coming from rtb, but as a "lesson" I just thought it would be better to have the lick that was recorded by the man himself.

    rock on.

  • I think there is a Video response function. Show me the light :)

  • The Previous comment was in response to a comment by superflea72: I clicked delete instead of reply on accident-

you're not playing the intro riff correctly. it's not too bad up until the last little lick where a couple of fudged notes ruin it for me. don't mean to pick.....kudos to you for good musical tastes, but just listen to the original again and you'll see what I mean. cheers :)

  • I want to note that this is not played using the exact transcript of the song, it is my interpretation. The CD version is played using a twelve string, and the riff isn't exactly the same, but thats not how I like to do it :)

  • BOO

  • you should really work on timing

  • You're definitely a good player and it's cool if you want to do it your own way, but you should state that in your explanation of what the video is. It seems like a lesson video on how to play the intro note for note.

    Good job though.
