Paige: The Best thing about repurposing is you don't have to spend a lot of money to get a new piece of furniture. A fresh coat of paint and a little bit of love can turn a drab piece of furniture into something functional and fabulous.

Kristan: This is the one piece of furniture that we wound up repurposing in either of the rooms. It was actually really nice, I don't know what it was, but she really needed the storage in here and I really like it in the white. I think it makes it look really fresh

Roshaun: Yeah, it gives it a new punch, I like it.

Kristan: When I talk to people about painting it's always about the brushes because I can't stress enough how important it is to buy a good brush. Spending four dollars more for a quality brush will save you tons of money in the long run because you won't keep buying brushes that aren't quality. You get those gnarly little hairs that come out and you can't get straight lines. So the most important part is a good quality brush and an angled tip. And that angled tip is what's going to give you control. So angled tip, good brush.

Kristan: You know the way they say choke up on a baseball bat? So it's the same thing with a brush. The further up your hand is the more control you have.

Kristan: Good rule of thumb is pull don't push. You never want to push the brush.

Kristan: I think the white on the bookcase really freshens it up and because book spines are kind of every color of the rainbow I think the white's going to be the nicest backdrop for anything that she puts on top of it.

Roshaun: So it will go with anything?

Kristan: Yeah.

Paige: And look, a couple coats of paint, a little bit of elbow grease and you've got a brand new piece of furniture
