I know this might be a stretch but I seriously believe that if the Military puts enough funding into this they might be able to make this a flexible bullet-proof suit. If it hardens a lot it can stop a bullet. The gel like material would give a soldier a lot of flexibility and when a bullet came it would simply stiff up and deflect the bullet. This might be far fetched but it could become a reality.

@IGwilson101 Best is to keep the magnet separate from the magnet by putting it inside a cup or something that you can remove it from and leave the ferro fluid behind. If it gets on the magnet, you soak up the fluid with rags until all that remains is the iron particles. Then you can pull off most of the particles fairly easily.
