for one u were doinin it wrong on the release, the Fet is reversed. most compressors u turn it right to slow down the release, like da UAD, so wen u were slowin down the UAD u thought u were slowin the Fet down too but u were speedin it up, samethin wit the attack, so the settin werent da same

it would be nice to have matched levels instead of lightning fast moves which gives no reference.

the levels are a bit too varied for real AB, would be more usful with a limiter with long attack time on the master bus.

@JimijaymesGuitarist I meant higher number faster unlike most compressors so both the Softube and UAD have it correct

@Djmoe2k8 Yeh all the 1176 plugin clones that have the original layout have attack and release in reverse to normal compressing (high number slower)

why you didn´t processed a good sounding beat with a rich spectrum and a lot pressure in very good quality and saved each version (UAD & Softube) after each other on one wave file? this way you wouldn´t need to switch chaotic from A to B. and this sound example sounds a bit cheap. i just hear the terrible intense highs without any middle or bass or pressure or dynamics. next time first search or design a very good sounding trip hop beat. its slower and you can study the sound better.

The UAD sounds more like an 1176 when you get to the heavier compressed settings toward the end of the video. The Softube has a good, usable sound in its own right though but not as real to the 1176 imo. Love Softube and UAD though.

aren't FET compressors supposed to be reversed with the release? I am new so correct me if I'm wrong

@dmoates420 No it doesn't. On a real 1176 both the attack and release are reversed. 1 = slow and 7 = fast. I have a blackface LN sitting in front of me here
