Nice job! I just started ice skating a few weeks ago and find it challenging, but rewarding. So far, my biggest achievement is realizing that I CAN skate backwards (using a scissors type of step), do a front cross over, and a very small bunny hop. I know, it's small beans compared all the stuff you're doing, but for me, it's rewarding as I know that I'm improving.

Keep up your great work and maybe I'll see you in a competition sometime in the future. :)

@jfluter Thanks for the comment. Sorry I'm so slow to reply. It's been five months, so I bet you've got your crossovers nailed by now! Maybe I'll see you at sectionals next year? :)

Update: I passed my ISI Gamma/Delta test last fall, and am now skating FS 1. It's also been determined that I'm a leftie skater, but luckilly, my coach can teach either direction. I will also be skating in my first ever competition next Month! I'm totally excited about. Chances are that I will be skating "against the book," as I'll be one of the older skaters at the competition, but I don't care. I'll be skating to "Vianne Opens Up Shop," from the "Chocolat" soundtrack. :)

@MakeupTeen94 It's because she's skating at the pre-bronze level, you've probably only seen the professional level of skating where it's critical that the jumps are higher...

@mariabrenner Yes, I do have my crossovers down now, and recently started doing them as crosscuts. I don't think I will be doing sectionals yet as I want to start off with a smaller competition to build up confidence. So, I'm thinking of starting off with the skating competition that my rink holds every spring, and go from there. In a few weeks, I'll be starting the ISI Gamma/Delta classes here, and have hopes to start freestyle classes this winter/spring. :)

@mariabrenner Maybe! We'll see what happens. I passed my Alpha/Beta test (yes, finally have those crossovers down), and I even took part in my first ever learn-to-skate exhibition a few weeks ago. It was a lot of fun, and I will see about possibly posting my portion of the performance once I have the dvd. Currently, I'm working on my Gamma/Delta moves, and my goal is to be at Freestyle 1 (minimum) by next spring.
