@TheAmasterofdisaster I have much respect for The Legion, but buddy, your barking in the wrong way. Many joined the Marines in the past(not anymore) to escape prison. And further more, the U.S. Marines, much like other services has traditions, since 1775. Legion wasn't formed til early 1800's. And I WILL add yet further, the Marines fought many 'o battles where situation was "In Doubt" & still came out on top. Much repect to the Legion, but YOU dude, needa go check yourself & educate. To say something stupid like the Legion is better than the US Marines is idiotic. You cannot compare the little battles the Legion were in with Iwo Jima, Guadalcanal, Okinawa, Belleau Wood, Chosin Reservoir, Tarawa, Korea, Hue, Fallujah etc. And the Legion didn't "fight to the last man" anywhere except Camerone when the Mexicans wiped them out. And they didn't fight to the last man at Dien Bien Phu. Get your facts straight before you come to a battle of wits half armed.

Thieves ? Maybe. Murderers ? I beg to differ. I think it's since the 1980's that this has been written in Foreign Legion rules, but no one charged with sex offense or murder can join the Legion : they are all rejected.

But there's a lot to bet that, even before that, any guy with suspicion of murder wouldn't be let in the Legion : they want guys you can trust, not guys you should always keep an eye on to keep him in check.

La Legion Etrangere is better soldiers than american marines - and they where formed of thieves murderes and other ppl who had something to run away from - they have traditions and they fight to the death - if you ever have been with them, you can do nothing but respect them.
