I need help with installing the collada plugin.
I recently downloaded blender 2.59 and the collada plugin both in a zip file. I placed the collada plugin in the python folder, and ran blender. However, I tried to import some .dae files and blender won't open them. Does anyone know how to install the plugin in a proper way? There is no tutorial for doing this anywhere!

different models/versions of blender use different cursors, so it does the same thing even though it looks different

add->mesh->monkey
better yet how do you keep the mouse cursor on as you click the monkey's eye brow? it forces me back to the cross hair

You can't change the crosshair to a regular cursor. It is a fixed point in the 3-d space. You don't have to move the cursor at all, unless you want to put an object at a specific location(look at the wikibook, Blender 3D: noob to pro )

Thanks, but I notice you have an actual mouse pointer, as I am stuck with a plus sign. I only see a mouse cursor when I am in object mode; however, you seem to have one in all modes even edit mode. Not sure how you set that up.

shift+mousemidd !
well i know where is shift button
but how can i click on mousemidd

Generally the scroll wheel is a button as well. Click that down; that is the middle mouse button.
If that doesn't work, the way to emulate that is to use ALT+LMB(LeftMouseButton)
