A ten-minute crash course in Blender 3D(http://www.blender.org).

Note: This tutorial is designed for people with previous 3D experience, although it may help people who are just getting into Blender as well.

Four things that I forgot:
1: To select all/none, tap the A key
2: To toggle between orthographic and perspective views, press 5 on the numpad
3: To set a background image, go to View - Background Image(Can only be seen in orthographic view)
4: To make a new face, select 3(or 4) verticies and press the F key on your keyboard

  • better yet how do you keep the mouse cursor on as you click the monkey's eye brow? it forces me back to the cross hair

  • You can't change the crosshair to a regular cursor. It is a fixed point in the 3-d space. You don't have to move the cursor at all, unless you want to put an object at a specific location(look at the wikibook, Blender 3D: noob to pro )

  • Thanks, but I notice you have an actual mouse pointer, as I am stuck with a plus sign. I only see a mouse cursor when I am in object mode; however, you seem to have one in all modes even edit mode. Not sure how you set that up.

  • Sorry man, I've got no clue what's going on with that.

  • shift+mousemidd !

well i know where is shift button

but how can i click on mousemidd

  • Generally the scroll wheel is a button as well. Click that down; that is the middle mouse button.

If that doesn't work, the way to emulate that is to use ALT+LMB(LeftMouseButton)

  • I need help with installing the collada plugin.

I recently downloaded blender 2.59 and the collada plugin both in a zip file. I placed the collada plugin in the python folder, and ran blender. However, I tried to import some .dae files and blender won't open them. Does anyone know how to install the plugin in a proper way? There is no tutorial for doing this anywhere!
